About Ammie
Ammie Arora is a pianist and is currently 16 years old. She has been playing for 6 years. She is currently undergoing training under the guidance of Mr. Brian Silas in the domain of retro music. Additionally, she avails instruction from Professor Alan Fraser, enriching her knowledge in Western classical music. She independently studies classical compositions, seeking guidance from her professor thereafter. She’s also studying music theory. In pursuit of a comprehensive understanding of retro music, she diligently practices with the tabla under the guidance of Mr. Tulsi Ram Madhwa, acquainting herself with various rhythmic patterns essential to this genre. She plays different genres like Pop, Western Classical, Rock, Retro, World Music which includes Korean songs, Spanish songs, the famous Portuguese song “La Lambada”, themes, carols, a few bhajans and a folk piece as well.
Major Competitions
Ammie won Bronze Medal 2024 in Fenix International Music Competition, Poland where she played Rachmaninoff’s Prelude in G Minor.
The Fenix Award International Music Competition is one of the biggest international online music competitions. It’s a partner competition of the Universal Maestro Society. It is a unique opportunity to showcase your creativity and musical talent. This digital event is open to all ages, from solo instrumentalists and vocalists to conductors, chamber ensembles, traditional music performers, composers and creative video makers. With a wide range of categories for all ages and instruments, there is an experience for every musician.
Ammie received the Gold prize in the Canadian International Music Competition, Canada (online) 2021-2022 (Rising Star Category) (classical)
Ammie received Silver medal in the Canadian international Music Competition 2021-2022 (Rising Star Category) (Pop).
Trinity International Music Competition is an online competition organized by the officially registered professional music organization Concours de Musique et des Beaux Arts Canada, which aims to nurture and challenge the musical abilities of young musicians and performing artists.
Ammie won the Gold Medal in the performance (Solo) category (classical) playing Chopin’s Fantaisie Impromptu scoring 90 out of 100.

Ammie won Silver Medal in performance (Solo) category (Pop) scoring 85 out of 100.
Ammie participated in the Four Notes International Piano Competition 2022, Abu Dhabi (online) and scored the Second prize. She scored 87.75 points out of 100.
To celebrate music as a way of life, the Performing Arts Society of Delhi Public School, R.K. Puram organised ‘Echoes Naad-Ninaad’, the annual Inter-school music festival, from 29 – 30 January 2021 via the virtual platform Google Meet.
- This soulfully curated event saw a passionate response from over 24 schools across the country. The Western Instrumental Competition was a solo event in which the participants played many melodious numbers from different genres to showcase their skill.
- The young maestros displayed their expertise in an instrument chosen by them in under two minutes. They were judged on the basis of originality, rhythm, creativity and technicality. The adroit panel of judges comprised Mr. Worin Tungshang, Music Teacher, Mt. Carmel School, Dwarka and Mr. Udbhav Seth, a Delhi Public School R.K. Puram alumnus.
- Ammie was awarded the First Prize in the competition.
- Ammie performed Mozart’s Turkish March.
Ammie won the First Prize in the Inter-school Crescendo Festival organized by DPS Dwarka, New Delhi.
Mentors
As a young student, Ammie deeply values the support and guidance of her mentor, Mr. Brian Silas. His expertise in retro music has been invaluable in her musical journey, helping her grow and learn as a budding pianist.
Professor Alan Fraser has also played a significant role in her musical development, particularly in Western classical music.
Mr. Manny Singh holds a special place in Ammie’s musical journey as her first teacher. It was under his guidance that her interest in the piano was sparked, laying the foundation for her love of music.
